Side conversations ceased and all attention gravitated toward a boy who was telling a story.  He was speaking to one girl, a girl with a crown of flowers and twinkling daisy eyes.  Cheek in hand, she was leaning so far over the arm of her armchair that their faces were inches apart.  The energy from this interaction was powerful enough to drown the balcony in light and spill off into the night sky.  It hadn’t even been a particularly memorable story.  But the love in her eyes was etched eternally into his mind.
